Context
The Challenge
Freese and Nichols was spending over $500k annually to license a project management tool that tracked progress and scheduled future projects. However, the software wasn’t meeting all their needs, so they approached us to develop a custom solution that would fully address their requirements. This project spanned a year and was built on the Drupal platform.
I played a key role in the project by conducting stakeholder interviews, creating site maps, and developing multiple iterations of wireframes leading to the final designs. I addressed several critical needs, including features for bidding, scheduling, submittals, team rosters, photo galleries, reporting, and an event calendar—all accessible directly from the dashboard for easy reference.
The custom tool was so successful that the client decided to white-label the software and sell it to other companies.
